What is a working holiday visa?
A working holiday visa is a temporary residence permit that combines work rights and tourism. It is granted under bilateral agreements between countries - so eligibility depends on your passport. Most are designed for young people aged 18-30 (some 18-35), with the explicit purpose of cultural exchange supplemented by work.
This is NOT the same as a regular work visa. Work is meant to fund travel, not be the primary purpose. In practice, many holders work full-time. Duration varies from 6 to 24 months, sometimes with extensions for regional or seasonal work.
