Carta de patrocinio frente a carta de invitación

Una carta de patrocinio la redacta la persona que paga su viaje. Declara el parentesco, el compromiso financiero, el origen de los fondos y exactamente qué gastos cubrirá el patrocinador. Es distinta, aunque a menudo combinada, de una carta de invitación, que declara alojamiento en lugar de dinero.

Si su padre le acoge y paga el viaje, redacta una sola carta combinada que cubre ambos aspectos. Si su padre paga pero usted se aloja en un hotel, redacta solo una carta de patrocinio. Si su hermana le acoge pero usted paga, ella redacta solo una carta de invitación.

Advertencia sobre fondos depositados a última hora

Las embajadas examinan los últimos 3-6 meses de extractos bancarios. Un ingreso de una suma grande que aparece justo antes de la solicitud, sin un origen claro y demostrable, es la mayor señal de alarma en las cartas de patrocinio. Los funcionarios llaman a esto "fondos depositados" (parked funds) y casi siempre rechazan la solicitud.

Si un ingreso grande es genuino (venta de propiedad, bonificación de fin de año, herencia), incluya documentación que lo explique: la escritura de venta, la carta de bonificación del empleador, el documento de sucesión. No intente disfrazar el ingreso transfiriéndolo a través de varias cuentas: los funcionarios comparan extractos entre cuentas.

Si el saldo habitual del patrocinador es bajo y un familiar le ha "prestado" dinero para la solicitud, esto también se marca. Las cartas de patrocinio deben respaldarse en la capacidad financiera demostrable del propio patrocinador, no en fondos prestados al efecto.
