Qu'est-ce qu'une lettre d'invitation ?

Une lettre d'invitation de visa est une lettre formelle rédigée par votre hôte dans le pays de destination - pas par vous, le demandeur. L'hôte vous invite à séjourner, confirme les dates, déclare où vous dormirez et (éventuellement) confirme s'il couvrira vos frais. Le demandeur soumet ensuite cette lettre comme pièce justificative à sa demande de visa.

Les deux cas les plus fréquents : vous visitez de la famille ou des amis (un particulier rédige la lettre), ou vous assistez à une réunion d'affaires ou à une conférence (une entreprise rédige la lettre). La structure est similaire dans les deux cas ; les pièces justificatives diffèrent.

Confusion courante : « lettre d'invitation » vs « lettre de garant ». Une lettre d'invitation dit « venez séjourner chez moi » (hébergement). Une lettre de garant dit « je paierai votre voyage » (argent). Une seule personne peut faire les deux - rédigez une seule lettre combinée.

return flight herself.

Aisha will leave the UK on or before 12 December 2026 - her return
PIA flight PK786 is already booked. She will not seek employment
or recourse to public funds during her visit.

attached, together with our last quarter's German tax return
(Körperschaftsteuererklärung) confirming our solvency.

We confirm that Mr Nguyen will leave Germany on or before 13
September 2026 and will not seek employment in Germany.

Quels documents l'hôte doit-il joindre ?

La lettre d'invitation ne vaut rien sans les pièces justificatives de l'hôte. Les ambassades refusent régulièrement les demandes où l'invitation manque de preuves que l'hôte (a) habite effectivement là où il prétend habiter et (b) peut soutenir financièrement la visite s'il a proposé de le faire.

  1. Copie du passeport, du titre de séjour ou de la carte nationale d'identité de l'hôte - recto-verso si pertinent.
  2. Preuve de domicile - facture de services récente (moins de 3 mois), contrat de location ou relevé hypothécaire indiquant le nom de l'hôte et l'adresse figurant sur la lettre.
  3. Relevés bancaires de l'hôte (3 à 6 mois) - uniquement si l'hôte parraine financièrement la visite.
  4. Fiches de paie récentes ou relevé de pension de l'hôte - uniquement en cas de parrainage.
  5. Preuve de relation - actes de naissance, actes de mariage, livret de famille, ou (pour des amis) historique de messages, photos, preuves de voyages antérieurs.
  6. Pour les invitations d'affaires : extrait d'enregistrement de l'entreprise, déclaration fiscale d'entreprise, et contrat ou ordre du jour de la réunion.
